Fatal Stabbing in Lewisham Sparks Murder Investigation


A murder investigation has been initiated following the death of a man who was stabbed in Lewisham. 


The police received a call at 00:58hrs on Friday, August 4, reporting a stabbing incident at Kender Street, near Queen's Road, SE15. 

Officers, along with London’s Ambulance Service (LAS), promptly arrived at the scene where they found a 20-year-old man with knife injuries. 

The injured man was immediately taken to a south London hospital in critical condition. 

Despite the efforts of the medical team, he tragically passed away this afternoon.


Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the murder investigation. 

Detective Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, from the Met’s South East Command, expressed his condolences to the victim's family and assured the community that they are actively working to gather all relevant information and identify those responsible. 

Police officers will be conducting enhanced patrols in the area to encourage anyone with information or concerns to come forward.

At present, there have been no arrests, and a crime scene remains in place at the location. 

The man's next of kin have been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course. Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have also been informed.
