In a shocking case from Monroe County, Wisconsin, a 74-year-old former private school teacher, Anne N. Nelson-Koch, has been convicted.
She now faces the possibility of 600 years in prison after being charged with sexually abusing a 14-year-old male student.
The Wisconsin State Journal reported that Nelson-Koch was found guilty on all 25 counts related to repeated sexual assaults on the teenage boy in the school's basement during the 2016-2017 school year.
At the time of the assaults, Nelson-Koch was 67 years old, while the victim was only 14.
The jury deliberated for just five hours after a three-day trial before returning a guilty verdict.
Assistant District Attorney Sarah M. Skiles praised the victim's bravery in speaking the truth and commended the jury for their dedication to finding the truth.
During the sentencing hearing, Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Richard Radcliffe released Nelson-Koch on a GPS monitor until her sentencing, which is scheduled for Oct. 27.
The former teacher could face up to 600 years in prison, as confirmed by Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Croninger.
