Lagos Police Arrest Trader For Trafficking Drugs with 10-year-old Niece

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a female trader named Taye Abass. She is accused of trafficking a hard drug named "Colorado" using her 10-year-old niece to avoid police checks.

Abass, residing in Oko Oba, Lagos, admitted to this offense during her presentation by the police at the Ikeja headquarters on Tuesday.

Abass revealed that she used her niece to transport the drugs from their home to her shop, as no one would suspect a young girl.

She described how she hid the drug in the girl's underwear and instructed her to put it in the shop for her to collect later.

Claiming hardship, Abass pleaded for leniency and forgiveness, stating that other accomplices had fled.

The underage girl, brought to the police station, revealed that the drug was placed on her body by her sister's mother.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, highlighted the collaborative efforts of the public and the police in the arrest.

Hundeyin shared that the drug was discovered hidden in the girl's panties, leading to further investigation and the involvement of the girl's guardian.
