Detective Chief Inspector Joe Garrity, from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, confirmed the incident stating that, “These suspects are believed to be associated with a gang involved in serious violence. Despite facing a wall of silence, even from Devon’s friends, my team remained resolute to bring them to justice.

Through reconstruction, phone analysis, CCTV examination, premises searches, and forensic inquiries, my officers, led by Detective Sergeant Devan Taylor, meticulously connected the dots to identify Devon’s assailants. This hard work allowed us to present a robust case and secure justice for him.”

The court learned that on June 1, 2022, around 6:00 p.m., Devon Jensen-Wallace had visited the St Raphael’s Estate in NW10.

While walking around with two friends and visiting local shops, they were ambushed by two or three men near Overton Close.

Armed with a machete-type knife and a baseball bat, the attackers confronted Devon and his friends. As they fled, Devon was stabbed in the leg.

The attackers pursued them, shouting threats.

Video footage captured the chase, with one attacker wielding the knife and another urging the attack.

Devon was later found bleeding heavily from a wound to his leg on Henderson Close.

Despite efforts by paramedics and police, he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem revealed the cause of death as a wound to the leg that severed the femoral vein.

The investigation faced challenges due to fear within the community, and Devon's friends declined to cooperate.

Authorities focused their attention on the Grant residence, suspecting Jamal Grant's connection due to a previous altercation.

After extensive investigation, evidence was secured, including a baseball bat with Lamar Grant's fingerprint and Devon's blood.

The investigation also involved CCTV analysis, phone records examination, and witness support.

Lamar and Jamal Grant were arrested in June 2022, while Elvis Grant was arrested in February 2023.

All three denied involvement but were charged with murder.
