NFL player Caleb Farley's father killed in house explosion

An explosion at the North Carolina home of NFL player Caleb Farley killed his father and injured a family friend.

The explosion happened Monday night at Farley's home in Mooresville, North Carolina.

First responders found 25-year-old family friend Christian Rogers leaving the house with non-life-threatening injuries.

They found Farley's father, Robert Farley, 61, dead in the debris.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, but they believe it may have been caused by a natural gas leak.

Farley was not home at the time of the explosion. He had purchased the home for his father, and he came to the scene of the explosion on Tuesday morning.

The 6,391-square-foot home was completely destroyed, along with several vehicles.
