Diablo Valley College Scandal: California College Coach, Kyle Lee Whitmore, Arrested on Pimping And Human Trafficking Charges

In California, a well-decorated faculty member and track coach at a college is now facing charges related to pimping and human trafficking, accused of compelling two women into prostitution.

Kyle Lee Whitmore, 39, found himself in custody on September 7th after a woman reported her allegations to Diablo Valley College authorities in Contra Costa County.

Whitmore holds a tenured position as an instructor in communication studies at the college, where he also serves as a track coach.

He's facing a range of charges, including pandering, according to the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office. After the initial complaint, investigators identified a second woman with similar allegations.

Specific details about the alleged crimes were not disclosed by prosecutors.

Following his arrest, Whitmore was placed on administrative leave. Contra Costa Community College District expressed deep concern about the allegations and emphasized the safety of students and staff as their top priority.

They take any accusations of misconduct by employees seriously.

Whitmore joined the college in 2014 and earned the title of track coach of the year during the 2021-22 academic year.

In a welcome back-to-school video from 2021, he discussed various resources available to students, such as basic needs programs, the food pantry, and tutoring services.

Currently, Whitmore is being held in the local jail without bail. No defense attorney has been officially listed for him.

In another news, a man has been handed two life sentences for a series of rape and sexual assault on victims of his home invasions. See detailed story here.
