Escape Video : Watch How Fugitive Danelo Cavalcante Escaped From a Pennsylvania Prison

A Pennsylvania prison escape has sparked a massive manhunt as authorities search for fugitive Danelo Cavalcante, who managed to break free from Chester County Prison last week.

The escape occurred on August 31 when Cavalcante, a convicted murderer awaiting transfer to state prison, scaled a prison wall, navigated razor wire, and made his getaway to a less secure area, according to Howard Holland, the acting warden of Chester County Prison.

The daring escape mirrored a previous one at the same facility.

Cavalcante gained notoriety for a brutal 2021 stabbing, during which he killed his ex-girlfriend in front of her two young children.

Surveillance footage from the prison captured his escape, showing him skillfully ascending a wall while remaining parallel to the ground. See the video below

The 34-year-old fugitive remained at large for nearly an hour before authorities realized he was missing. The manhunt for Cavalcante has now entered its seventh day.

Holland provided a timeline of events, indicating that Cavalcante escaped at 8:51 a.m. on August 31.
However, he was not noticed missing until inmates returned from the exercise yard at 9:35 a.m.

Subsequently, a headcount confirmed his absence, and the prison was placed on lockdown, with a public escape siren sounding at 10:01 a.m.

Cavalcante, a native of Brazil, stands approximately 152 cm tall, with long, curly black hair and brown eyes. Authorities have described him as extremely dangerous and desperate to avoid capture.

Residents in the vicinity of the prison have been urged to secure their doors, stay indoors, check on their neighbors, and monitor their security cameras.

In addition to his murder conviction, Cavalcante is also wanted in connection with a 2017 homicide case in Brazil, as reported by the US Marshals Service.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

In another news, a Florida man has been sentenced to Life in prison for the murder of his pregnant wife and her father. See detailed story here.
