Mehmet Koray Alpergin: Turkish DJ's Murder Trial Unearths The Final Moments Of His Life and The Unimaginable Horror He Went Through with His Girlfriend

In a horrifying incident that shocked London, a well-known Turkish DJ, Mehmet Koray Alpergin, aged 43, faced brutal torture leading to his tragic demise. The harrowing details emerged during court proceedings, revealing his final moments of compassion toward his girlfriend, Gozde Dalbudak, aged 34, who was held captive with a blindfold in a bathroom.

The nightmare unfolded on October 13, 2022, when Alpergin and Dalbudak were abducted by a group of six men near the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This incident occurred as they were returning home from a fancy dinner at an Italian restaurant in the upscale Mayfair district.

Their captors took them to an abandoned wine bar, where Dalbudak was blindfolded and confined to a squalid bathroom. Meanwhile, Alpergin endured a brutal assault that included beatings, scalding with hot water, and stabbing on his feet, as revealed during the trial.

Even in the midst of unimaginable suffering, Alpergin managed to offer words of reassurance to his girlfriend. Dalbudak heard him calling out, saying, "My love, don't be scared," before his voice was drowned out by shouts and screams of pain.

Alpergin was the owner of Turkish radio station Bizim FM.

This gruesome account of Alpergin's final moments unfolded during the trial of six men from London, who faced charges including murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and perverting justice.

Alpergin's lifeless body was discovered in the woods on October 15 by a dog walker.

Dalbudak, who had been abducted alongside Alpergin, recounted her ordeal, revealing that she had been struck in the face and knocked unconscious by her captors. She endured nearly two days of captivity in the bathroom before finally being released.

The court learned that Dalbudak had arrived in the UK from Turkey just three days before the tragic abduction. Crispin Aylett, the prosecutor, noted that this visit was her first and last to the UK, and she returned to Turkey on October 21, 2022.

She chose not to return to the UK for the trial, preferring to put the traumatic experience behind her.

An autopsy on Alpergin's body revealed a shocking total of 94 injuries, confirming the brutal nature of his torture. Aylett, the prosecutor, suggested that Alpergin may have been kidnapped and tortured either as a form of punishment or to extract information, possibly related to drugs or money.

The injuries inflicted on Alpergin were described as sadistic, with multiple assailants taking turns inflicting harm through punches, kicks, bat strikes, scalding with boiling water, and stabbing his feet.

Prior to the abduction, jurors were informed that Alpergin had exhibited unusual behavior, appearing anxious instead of his usual "happy-go-lucky" self. Additionally, he was allegedly burdened by debt, including approximately $40,000 owed for his car.

The individuals facing charges in connection to this horrific crime include Steffan Gordon, 34, Tejean Kennedy, 33, Samuel Owusu-Opoku, 35, Junior Kettle, 32, Ali Kavak, 26, and Erdogan Ulcay, 56. Charges range from murder to kidnapping, false imprisonment, and perverting justice.

Kennedy, Owusu-Opoku, Kettle, and Kavak deny the murder charge, as well as false imprisonment and kidnapping charges. Gordon admitted to kidnapping but denied the murder and false imprisonment allegations. Ulcay and Kavak deny the charges related to perverting justice, while Owusu-Opoku admitted to them.
