Notorious Pimp, Somorie Moses Confesses to Gruesome Murder and Sex Trafficking

Somorie Moses, a notorious pimp with a history of extreme violence, has confessed to the murder of his prostitute girlfriend and the sex trafficking of eight other women, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of New York.

On January 13, 2017, Moses brutally beat Leondra Foster, 32, to death in their shared apartment, and later dismembered her body using a saw and knife.

He disposed of her torso and limbs at a sanitation site in the Bronx, New York, four days later. Shockingly, the police discovered Foster's severed head, hands, and feet, including a foot with the name "Somorie" tattooed on it, in a deep freezer at Moses' Brooklyn residence.

Moses, 47, entered a guilty plea on September 15. Previously, he had been convicted of concealment of a corpse and criminally negligent homicide but had been acquitted of murder charges in a Brooklyn state court in 2019.

However, he was rearrested by federal authorities on a charge of murder in the course of sex trafficking.

In his previous court case, Moses admitted to dismembering Foster's remains but denied killing her. He did acknowledge his history as a pimp for two decades, boasting about his involvement and admitting to physically abusing Foster.

Federal investigators later found two individuals willing to testify that Moses had confessed to Foster's murder. With his guilty plea to all counts in the indictment, Moses now faces full responsibility for preying on women and girls, forcing them into prostitution, and committing a gruesome murder.

Moses, also known as "Somorie Barfield," "Sugar Bear," "Bear," and "Daddy," is now looking at a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

Since at least 2003, Moses used violence, threats, and psychological manipulation to coerce women and girls, including minors, into prostitution, pressuring them to tattoo his name on their bodies. He deceived them with false promises of love and marriage before compelling them to work as prostitutes and surrender their earnings to him.

His brutal tactics included the use of a Taser, physical beatings, slashing with a knife, dousing victims in lemon juice, and threats with loaded guns. Many of his victims expressed significant safety concerns.

Moses' criminal history includes convictions related to prostitution and possession of a weapon, leading to previous prison sentences.

His guilty plea finally closes a chapter on a case marked by sexual exploitation, violence, and murder.

In another development in Florida, the friends and family of two women, tragically killed by Aaron Glee, have expressed their desire for the death penalty, even though it's not a legal option in this case. See detailed story here.
