Tragedy Strikes Pennsylvania: Man Charged with Killing Brother and Mother

A 49-year-old man from Pennsylvania is now confronting the possibility of a lifetime behind bars, accused of fatally shooting his 53-year-old brother and 74-year-old mother in the home they shared.

Aaron Deshong was taken into custody and charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of third-degree murder, and one count of possessing a weapon used in the crime.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office reported that the Pennsylvania State Police in Sippack responded to an emergency call at their residence in Perkiomen Township. The call, made by Aaron Deshong himself, raised concerns about his family members' safety.

Upon arriving at the scene, troopers found Deshong on the phone with the FBI and immediately detained him. Inside the home, they discovered Aaron Deshong's mother and brother in the kitchen, both with apparent fatal gunshot wounds.

Autopsies later confirmed the cause of death as homicide.

Court documents provided additional insight into the incident. During his conversation with the FBI, Adam Deshong, the accused's brother, mentioned that his mother and brother could not come to the phone and alluded to having harmed them.

He also expressed mistrust of local law enforcement.

The troopers found the victims in the kitchen surrounded by large pools of blood. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killings.

Aaron Deshong is currently held without bond in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
