5-Year Mystery Solved: Husband Admits to Murdering Missing Texas Mom, Jennifer Sanchez

More than five years after a Texas mom of six boys disappeared, her estranged husband, Joey Leos Sanchez, confessed to killing her with an 'unknown object.' He finally told the authorities where they might find her body.

It all began on September 7, 2018, when 39-year-old Jennifer Sanchez was last seen. Joey, her husband, was charged with a serious crime right away. They believed he deliberately hurt Jennifer while trying to get back at her.

Jennifer's aunt, Yvonne, revealed that Joey was a very violent person. They were still married when the terrible incident happened, and Jennifer had tried to get a restraining order against him.

Court records showed that Joey had a history of violence. In 1996, he was convicted of hurting someone with a dangerous weapon.

But there was more to his past. Joey was a registered sex offender and had spent a lot of time in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. His mugshots from 2012 to 2018 told a part of his story.

Now, he's facing a long sentence of 50 years for Jennifer's murder.

Joey admitted to first-degree murder and was given this sentence. He used a deadly weapon, but it wasn't a gun; it was something unknown, which he used to commit this terrible act.

According to a local CBS affiliate, KHOU, Joey said he hit Jennifer with a beer bottle and strangled her. He also claimed, for the first time, that he disposed of her body in Galveston.

Jennifer's mother, Ofelia Gomez, expressed doubt, saying, 'We don't know if it's the truth. If he did throw her in the ocean, it's just a pinpoint.'
