A businessman from Chattanooga, Tennessee, met a tragic end when he was shot and killed while heading to a high school reunion, according to authorities.
Christopher Wright, aged 38 and a father of three, including a newborn, was in downtown Chattanooga on September 28 to reconnect with fellow alumni from the Baylor School. An altercation occurred between him and two men on the street, as reported by Fox Chattanooga.
Surveillance footage captured the moment when Wright engaged in a conversation with Darryl Roberts and another man, after which he walked away. However, Roberts, also known as "Too Tall," allegedly approached Wright and shot him, with a witness describing the shot as striking him in the head.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Wright sadly lost his life. Fox News Digital reached out to the Chattanooga police department for further details.
Following the shooting, Roberts fled the scene but was apprehended the following day by U.S. Marshals and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He now faces charges of first-degree murder and is being held on a $5 million bond.

Roberts has a substantial criminal record, with over 60 charges related to various offenses, as reported by local news outlets. His history includes incidents such as a 2003 shoplifting episode involving a knife confrontation with mall security personnel.
In 2009, he faced charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm for allegedly pulling a gun on a store clerk who refused to sell him beer. In 2010, he reportedly fired several shots through a door during a home invasion.
Despite his numerous arrests, records indicate that Roberts never served more than six months in jail, as noted by the New York Post, citing local media reports.
Christopher Angel, president of the Baylor School, expressed the community's grief over Wright's untimely death, especially as he was set to celebrate his 20th class reunion. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Wright's family, highlighting his recent addition of a third child just eight weeks prior.
Wright's biography on the Alderman Enterprises website reveals his educational background, including attendance at Yale University and the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. In response to the tragic shooting, Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly denounced gun violence, pledging to use all available resources to combat such acts and ensure community safety.
