Heartbreaking Case of Tennessee Teen's Fatal Shooting: Woman Accused of Luring Him

An 18-year-old woman from Tennessee is accused of luring a 17-year-old boy to her apartment complex, where someone else tragically shot him, according to the Nashville police. Arleth Bonilla is facing charges related to facilitating criminal homicide in the case of Israel Teniente, who lost his life on August 8 in the breezeway of building "E" at Falcon View Apartments on E. Palestine Avenue. He succumbed to his injuries at Skyline Hospital.

Bonilla is the only individual arrested thus far, but the police are looking into her alleged boyfriend.

Teniente's family initially believed he was missing. When they contacted the authorities, they revealed that Teniente had received a message from an unidentified woman, possibly his girlfriend Arleth, according to the news release. The police only identified Bonilla as an acquaintance of Teniente. Teniente's father noted that she lived at the apartment complex where the alleged murder took place.

Over the phone, the family's representative received messages indicating that Teniente was dead. The victim's father was informed by a friend of the victim that he was going to visit a girl at the apartment, and another unknown boy shot and killed him.

According to the police, Teniente's phone records showed that he received three calls from the same phone number just before the shooting, between 7:34 p.m. and 7:47 p.m. In an interview, a family member revealed that they had contacted the number, and a female answered, suggesting that the victim might have been the one killed.

The police asked if they knew the woman the boy had been talking to, and the father identified her as "Arleth" and provided a picture of her. Authorities later confirmed that the phone number belonged to Bonilla.

On August 10, the police received a Crime Stoppers tip indicating that Teniente had gone to the apartment complex to see a woman with the Instagram handle "@arleth.bonilla_18." Photos on that account included Roman numerals matching the Facebook account of "Arleth.Bonilla.1890," which was identified as "Arleth" by family members.

Bonilla was officially identified through Hunters Lane High School, where a staff member stated that she had not attended classes since August 8, the day of the homicide.

It was discovered that Bonilla was in a relationship with a juvenile, referred to as E.S. in the documents. E.S. was a person of interest in the July 19 murder of Luis Arita-Vasquez, according to the authorities. Arita-Vasquez had been shot in the head, and his body was left near a picnic table outside an apartment building on Berkley Drive.

Others at Bonilla's school confirmed her relationship with E.S., and officers claimed to have verified this through cellphone evidence. Instagram messages suggested E.S.'s involvement and possible responsibility for Teniente's murder. E.S. mentioned his girlfriend, Arleth, "writing to him and parking somewhere" and assured that she was "still watching" after the incident.
