A pastor from the Houston area finds himself in custody, facing disturbing allegations of sexually assaulting a juvenile family member over more than a decade, even resulting in her pregnancy, as indicated in Texas court records.
The records state that 39-year-old Robert L. Carter has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and sexual assault of a child under 17, both serious offences.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by Fox News Digital, the girl, now 22, revealed that Carter began abusing her when she was just 7 years old in 2008. Shockingly, at that time, Carter was married to the girl's mother.
The complaint details how Carter's abuse began with him disrobing in front of the girl and eventually escalating to exposing himself and enticing her with candy. The victim disclosed that these horrifying sexual assaults happened at least 600 times.
"It happened a lot over the years," she told the police.
Carter's alleged abuse extended to when he drove the victim to school. He would pull the vehicle behind a supermarket, where the girl would be subjected to further sexual abuse, sometimes accompanied by the viewing of explicit content on his cellphone.
The abuse also occurred at the Greater Bible Way Church in Sunnyside, where Carter was employed. In one harrowing incident, the girl confronted Carter, expressing her unwillingness to continue, which led to threats and intimidation.
The ordeal eventually ceased when the girl turned 19. Shockingly, just three years before that, she became pregnant with Carter's child, and she gave birth to a baby boy in a closet on September 5, 2018, as stated in the complaint.
She informed Carter about the birth, and he allegedly took the infant to a firehouse and left him there.
Carter is currently held at the Harris County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.
