North Carolina Man on Bond Accused of Murdering Girlfriend's Mother

A North Carolina man, previously arrested in June for allegedly attempting to murder his girlfriend's father, now faces accusations of killing the girlfriend's mother while he was out on bond, as reported by various news outlets.

Michael Steven Ricker, aged 36, was taken into custody on Sunday by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in connection with the death of Lesa Armstrong Rose, which occurred the previous day in Maiden, North Carolina. The tragic incident was reported by WSOC-TV, WCNC Charlotte, and Queen City News.

The 63-year-old victim, Lesa Armstrong Rose, was discovered lifeless at the scene, and Ricker, who resided in the same house, was swiftly identified as a suspect, as per WCNC Charlotte.

Family members made an emergency call when they arrived at the residence and found Rose on the bathroom floor. While initial suspicions pointed to cardiac arrest, the Lincoln County EMS noted that her injuries were inconsistent with a natural death, according to WSOC-TV.

Lesa Armstrong Rose was identified as the mother of Ricker's girlfriend, and it's worth noting that in June, Ricker allegedly shot the girlfriend's father, Terry Rose, as claimed by authorities.

Previously, Ricker had been arrested on an attempted murder charge and had subsequently been released on bond, as reported by WSOC-TV.

A neighbor named Steven Spencer, who was familiar with both Ricker and the Rose family, described Ricker to WSOC-TV as a "lowlife" and revealed that he had been with Rose just a few hours prior to her tragic demise.

Ricker is currently in custody without bond, and his court appearance is scheduled for November 9. It remains unclear whether he has entered a plea or retained legal representation.
