In Philadelphia, a dirt biker finds himself in hot water with a bunch of criminal charges. He got caught on video doing some outrageous stuff - leaping through the back window of a mom's car, with her two little kids in there, pointing a gun at her, and giving her a helmet-to-head nudge.
The guy in question, Cody Heron, who's 26, is now facing the music. The charges on his plate include having a weapon, behaving recklessly, and racking up several counts of serious assault. They threw his bail from one million bucks to four million on Monday.
This wild incident happened on October 1 near City Hall. Heron was part of a crew of dirt bike and ATV riders. The whole thing was caught on tape. First, he hops on top of the lady's car and then makes a crazy jump through the back window, which, not surprisingly, smashes it to bits. Then the lady steps out to have a word with Heron. That's when things go from bad to worse - he whips out a gun and bonks her with his helmet.
Interim Philadelphia Police Commissioner John Stanford wasn't having any of it, saying, "The criminal actions of this defendant left four victims traumatized."
The whole world saw what went down, thanks to a tourist on a double-decker bus who recorded the whole incident. The Philly police put out the video and some still pictures on October 3, and Heron got nabbed the very next day.
Assistant District Attorney William Fritze, Supervisor of the DAO’s Gun Violence Task Force, wasn't holding back either, stating, “Cody Heron, who was recklessly riding his motorcycle through the heavily populated streets of Center City Philadelphia while carrying a firearm, senselessly assaulted an innocent woman and her children who were simply going about their evening. Our Gun Violence Task Force fully intends to prosecute this dangerous individual to the fullest extent of the law.”
The victim, Nikki Bullock, explained that she was out delivering food with her girlfriend and her two young ones, aged 5 and 2, when the motorcycle and ATV riders surrounded her car. Bullock said they were acting all crazy, and Heron slammed into her car. They got into a shouting match, and that's when Heron decided to jump on her car's back.
Once he jumped in, she got out to stand up to him and noticed he was packing heat. She stood her ground, thinking, "It was just like, it was a little gun, and at that point, my windshield was already broken so what was he really going to do to me, for real?"
The DA's office gathered up the dirt bike, the gun, the helmet, and the clothes as evidence. Heron's next day in court is set for October 30.
