Shocking Twist: Drug Cartel Hitmen Mistakenly Kill Their Own Leader

In a startling case of mistaken identity, hitmen from a drug cartel have reportedly killed their own leader. The incident unfolded at a private health clinic in Culiacán, Mexico, on the night of September 28.

The gunmen, loyal to Los Chapitos, the sons of the infamous drug lord Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, were guarding another man receiving treatment at the clinic. A gunfight erupted when an armed man arrived, identified as "El 22," believed to be in charge of the cartel's operations in Guamúchil, Sinaloa.

The confusion arose from the hitmen not knowing their own boss as it is a usual thing with the drug cartels. This led the hitmen to assume that El 22 was a rival hitman intent on eliminating the wounded man, meanwhile he was their boss.

Tragically, four people lost their lives in the shootout, including Dr. Otniel Montoya, who became an unintended victim of the crossfire.

Following the confrontation, one of the hitmen who had killed their own boss required medical attention. It has been reported that he turned the gun on himself after realizing the grave mistake he had made, choosing to end his own life rather than face the gruesome consequences the cartel might have in store for him.

Videos circulating on social media have purportedly shown the funeral of El 22, with flower displays bearing the names of El Chapo's sons, who paid their respects.

In another news, two young men who lost their lives in a stabbing incident in Halifax, West Yorkshire, have been identified by locals as the police initiate a murder investigation. See detailed story here.
