76-Year-Old Grandma Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Grandson, Dana Jordan in Unexpected Tragedy

A 76-year-old woman, Mary Jordan, has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing her grandson, Dana Jordan, 38, which shocked both family members and neighbors.

Mary, known as a friendly individual with no criminal record, was taken into custody on a murder charge with a $100,000 bond, as reported by WALA.

According to officers, Mary confessed to the shooting, citing anger over an incident involving Dana from the previous night. She purportedly shot him multiple times, leading to his death when officers arrived at the scene.

Despite Mary's lack of prior criminal history, there are suggestions in documents that she may be dealing with dementia. However, her cousin, Alfaye Prince, defended her actions, hinting at a possible self-defense motive.

Prince expressed disbelief over the situation, claiming Mary Jordan called her after the incident, admitting to the shooting.

She highlighted issues between Dana and Mary, including Dana living with his grandmother and possible disagreements regarding missing belongings.

Neighbors, such as Gregory Carroll Sr., also echoed sentiments of surprise, recalling Mary as a friendly figure in the community.
