Alleged Affair Unveiled: Wife's Instagram Post of Selena Gomez's 'Single Soon' Foreshadows Husband's Murder, Say Police.
In Northern California, a chilling crime unfolded as a California woman, Razma Mohammad-Ibrahim, and her lover, Samim Azizi, allegedly orchestrated the fatal stabbing of her husband, Parwiz Assar, with police revealing disturbing details.
Authorities claim Azizi, 31, donned a mask and ambushed Assar, 51, emerging from bushes to carry out the lethal act. Mohammad-Ibrahim, 35, allegedly feigned discovery of the body and hurriedly sought help from neighbors to dial 911, as per documents acquired by The Mercury News. The accused pair is currently in custody, facing a murder charge in Alameda County.
Hayward police disclose that Assar and Mohammad-Ibrahim, married for approximately 12 years, faced marital issues. Mohammad-Ibrahim initiated an affair with Azizi in December 2022, and together, they purportedly plotted to eliminate Assar to dissolve the marriage and secure full custody of their children and family assets.
Evidence suggests a premeditated scheme, with the defendants meeting at a Motel 6 before the crime, as reported by The Mercury News. Azizi's text to Mohammad-Ibrahim the day before, describing the knife he obtained as "strong," raises chilling suspicions. On the day of the incident, Mohammad-Ibrahim allegedly posted Selena Gomez's "Single Soon" on Instagram, providing a haunting glimpse into the unfolding tragedy.
Azizi's texted image of himself in the bushes outside the victim's home further reinforces the alleged plot. Police credit phone records in tracing Azizi, a Washington state resident, near the California crime scene. Mohammad-Ibrahim, however, denied marital issues to investigators, despite earlier police records indicating a domestic disturbance call two weeks before.
Assar had reported unknown individuals entering his home, captured by a Ring camera, with Mohammad-Ibrahim claiming he was armed and returning home when he learned of her affair. Previous incidents included Assar accusing his wife of kidnapping their children during a supposed vacation to Canada, leading to visa expiration and the realization that his marriage was crumbling.
At the crime scene, a man identifying as a close friend of Assar approached police, revealing the victim's fears of an impending attack by Mohammad-Ibrahim. Azizi was apprehended in Seattle on Oct. 31, awaiting extradition without bail, while Mohammad-Ibrahim was arrested on Nov. 15, held without bail at the Santa Rita Jail in California. The couple's children are reportedly residing with family.
