In a tragic turn of events, the boyfriend of a beloved cheerleading coach and mother of three has been arrested and charged with her murder. The victim, Rosalin Lewis, was found dead in her apartment on November 18th.
William Christian Thomas, 23, of Livingston, Texas, is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail on a $1 million bond. It is unclear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
Lewis, 24, was a well-respected member of the Jasper community. She was a devoted mother to her three children, ages 2, 3, and 5. She was also a passionate cheerleading coach, having founded "Stunning Stars Cheer & Dance" with her mother in high school.
"Rosalin's impact was so amazing that every young girl she trained became a Cheerleader for Jasper High School," her mother, Schwanda Scott, wrote on a GoFundMe page set up to help offset funeral expenses. "Rosalin will truly be missed and her legacy will live on forever with the love and memories from her children, family, team, friends and the Jasper community."
The investigation into Lewis' death is ongoing. No further details about the motive or circumstances of the murder have been released.
