Domestic Violence Incident Turns Tragic as Nashville Man Stabs Daughter Multiple Times

In a disturbing turn of events, a Nashville man, Floyd Allen Seay, 81, stands accused of repeatedly stabbing his daughter during a heated argument outside their South Nashville home on Monday afternoon. The incident unfolded in the 3000 block of Louise Drive, leaving the victim with severe stab wounds and Seay facing attempted criminal homicide charges.

Metro Nashville Police responded to the scene at approximately 1:30 PM following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with stab wounds to her chest, lower neck, and cheek. She was promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of her serious injuries.

Seay was detained by officers until investigators arrived. Witnesses provided video footage of the incident, allegedly depicting a verbal altercation between Seay and his daughter that escalated into a physical confrontation.

According to the arrest report, Seay grabbed his daughter's head and forcefully pulled her to the ground before repeatedly striking her in the face. He then retrieved a kitchen knife from inside the residence and proceeded to stab his daughter multiple times.

A witness at the scene recounted that after the stabbing, Seay handed the knife to a neighbor and made a chilling confession, stating, "I tried to kill her, but I couldn't."

In a subsequent interview with investigators, Seay acknowledged intentionally grabbing the knife but expressed uncertainty about the motive behind his actions. He attributed the escalation of the altercation to "everything that had been building up" and alarmingly admitted that he would repeat the offense if given the opportunity.

Seay was taken into custody and subsequently booked into Metro Jail, where he remains held on a $500,000 bond.
