Family Tragedy in Oregon: Oregon Man, Anthony Wessel Admits to Fatally Shooting Wife


A man from Oregon walked into an Oregon City police station on Monday afternoon and reportedly admitted to shooting his wife, leading to her death.

The Oregon City Police Department released a statement on Tuesday, revealing that Anthony Wessel, aged 41, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder regarding the passing of his 37-year-old wife, Anna Wessel.

Anthony purportedly informed officers that the incident occurred within their family home in Oregon City. Police promptly proceeded to the residence, discovering Anna deceased. No other individuals were found inside the house.

Prosecutors, as per KPTV, confirmed in court that Anna had succumbed to two gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities have yet to disclose a potential motive for the tragic incident.

Presently, Anthony remains detained at the Clackamas County Jail, as per police reports. It's unclear whether he has pleaded guilty or sought legal representation.

Documents obtained by KATU-TV reveal that the couple had been married for 18 years.

A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Anna’s loved ones mentions that she leaves behind children who will be cared for by family members during this period.
