Florida Man Charged with Kidnapping and Sexual Battery

A Florida man is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly holding a woman captive and subjecting her to physical and sexual abuse.

The disturbing incident unfolded on the evening of November 18th when the Cape Coral Police Department responded to an emergency call at a residence.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man experiencing a medical emergency and a woman in distress, bearing visible signs of physical abuse.

The woman, who has not been identified, bravely mouthed "save me" to a responding officer, indicating that she was being held against her will. Further examination revealed multiple bruises and injuries on her body.

Both the woman and the man, identified as 30-year-old Jordan Garrett, were transported to a hospital for treatment. At the hospital, the woman recounted her harrowing ordeal, revealing that she had been held captive within her own home by Garrett. She alleged that he had subjected her to physical assaults and sexual abuse.

According to police reports, the woman had attempted to seek help on previous occasions, but Garrett had confiscated her phone and threatened her with further harm. Authorities stated that the victim's life was in imminent danger due to Garrett's actions, which prevented her from escaping or seeking assistance.

Garrett was swiftly arrested and charged with a series of offenses, including battery, depriving a crime victim of medical care, obstructing justice, preventing communication with law enforcement, kidnapping, and sexual battery.

"The Cape Coral Police Department strongly condemns these heinous acts and is committed to ensuring that justice is served for the victim," stated Mercedes Phillips, the department's Public Affairs Officer.

Garrett is currently being held in Lee County Jail on a $190,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on December 18th. It remains unclear whether he has retained legal counsel at this time.
