A 41-year-old man from Gulfport, Mississippi, finds himself behind bars after reportedly brutally stabbing a woman over 50 times in her face and body while her daughter tried to intervene.
Nicholas Leshaun Unger was arrested by the Gulfport Police Department on Nov. 8 and is currently held in jail on a $250,000 bond, facing a single charge of aggravated domestic assault.
According to documents accessed online by Law&Crime, officers responded to an active assault around 3 p.m. on Nov. 8, finding Unger's victim with numerous stab wounds on her face and body.
The attack unfolded when Unger, after a verbal dispute outside the woman's residence, allegedly followed her inside, grabbed a knife, and initiated the assault.
Despite the woman managing to briefly escape into a rear bedroom with her daughter attempting to intervene, Unger pursued and continued the attack within the room.
The woman is currently hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition, as per local outlet WXXV.
Public arrest records do not yet provide information on whether Unger has retained legal representation.
