Remembering Tatum: Laguna Beach Manager's Memorial Fund Seeks Community Support

Over the weekend, a restaurant manager was tragically discovered dead in a secluded spot in Laguna Beach, California, by a construction worker, leading to an arrest in the case, as reported by local police.

Responding to the scene on Sunday morning, Laguna Beach Police identified the victim as Tatum Goodwin. Friends mentioned that Goodwin had joined them for post-work drinks the night before her body was found.

By Wednesday, authorities gathered enough information and evidence to locate the suspect in the 27-year-old's killing, Dino Rojas-Moreno, according to a press statement.

In a GoFundMe campaign, Marcos Salim Heredi, a colleague of Goodwin at Carmelita's Restaurants, described her as a hardworking individual who always wore a smile. The campaign aims to raise funds for her memorial services and create a lasting tribute in the city to ensure Tatum is never forgotten.

Goodwin had dedicated four years of her life to working at Carmelita's Restaurants, according to Heredi.

Rojas-Moreno, 26, reportedly had no prior relationship with the victim and was perceived as "super weird" by Goodwin's friend and neighbor, Georgette Schuda. He was employed at the Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill, less than half a mile from Carmelita's Restaurants.

Jail records indicate that Rojas-Moreno, from Aliso Viejo, California, is currently held on a $1 million bond. Whether he has secured legal representation is not immediately clear.

Despite requests for additional information, Laguna Beach police did not respond to PEOPLE's inquiries.
