Repeat Offender: American Man Rearrested on Fresh Child Sex Charges in Kenya

An American man previously convicted of child sex offenses in Kenya nearly a decade ago faced a denial of bail after being arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 3-year-old.

Terry Ray Krieger, 68, appeared in a Mavoko County court near Nairobi and faces accusations of illegal presence in Kenya, alongside the recent defilement charges.

Despite Krieger's plea for bail due to his need for additional care, Senior Principal Magistrate Barbra Ojoo refused bail based on concerns of his past offenses and the risk of fleeing.

He remains in custody until a scheduled hearing on November 27, where the case will be reviewed.

Krieger's history includes a 50-year sentence in 2014 for sexually exploiting Kenyan children and distributing their images online.

His release in November 2022, after serving only eight years, remains surrounded by uncertainty. Additionally, his past in the United States includes a 1992 conviction for sexual misconduct with a minor, serving three years in prison before release in 1995.
