Shocking Ohio Case: Woman Tortured, Trapped in Plastic Container by 31-Year-Old Dalontay R. Edmond-Geiger

In Ohio, a 31-year-old man is facing several years in prison after he confessed to holding a 60-year-old woman captive, subjecting her to brutal physical abuse, and confining her in a compact plastic storage container. The victim miraculously survived the harrowing ordeal.

Dalontay R. Edmond-Geiger made his admission before Judge Hollie Lauren Gallagher at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. He pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and possessing weapons while under a disability, according to official court documents.

Michael O'Malley, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, expressed shock at the severity of the case, remarking that it was among the most distressing he had encountered during his career. Fortunately, law enforcement located the victim alive.

According to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by Law&Crime, Cleveland Police Department officers responded to a report of a woman being held against her will at a residence on West 97th Street. The officers found the victim inside, and Edmond-Geiger subsequently confessed to physically assaulting her, restraining her, and concealing her from the authorities.

The victim sustained severe injuries, including multiple fractures to the back of her head, and was found unconscious, requiring a ventilator for breathing assistance. The disturbing chain of events began earlier that day when a concerned individual reported the presence of a restrained woman in the basement of a nearby home.

While investigating, officers initially found only an air mattress in Edmond-Geiger's basement. Later inquiries and a conversation with a local resident revealed more incriminating evidence, leading to a subsequent visit to the residence. Inside the living room, the sound of moaning prompted a thorough search, ultimately leading to the discovery of the victim concealed in a small storage container beneath the porch.

The victim's injuries were grave, leading to paralysis, and she has remained in a coma since the incident. Edmond-Geiger is set to be sentenced on November 29 before Judge Gallagher.
