Thanksgiving Shooting in Moore Leaves Two Hospitalized

Two people were shot and sent to the hospital Thanksgiving night following a dispute that escalated into gunfire near the Copper Place Apartments on Nottingham Way in Moore, Oklahoma. One person has been detained in connection with the incident.

According to Moore Police, the shooting occurred just after 5:30 PM on Thursday evening. Investigators believe that the altercation originated between two individuals who resided in the neighborhood, with one of them living within the apartment complex.

"We're aware that some of the individuals involved resided here in these homes on the west side of Nottingham," stated Clint Byley, PIO for the Moore Police Department. "Additionally, we know that one of the people involved lives within the apartment complex."

During the argument, gunfire erupted, with stray bullets striking a window at the apartments.

"We have a significant area cordoned off back there in that corner," Byley explained. "Within that area, we've discovered a scene with what appears to be blood splatter."

One man was struck in the head, while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.

"It's upsetting because it makes you feel unsafe," expressed Blake Bray, an acquaintance of one of the victims. "It makes you feel, you know, all these people who live here. You see people standing around taking videos. They don't feel safe in their homes anymore."

The Thanksgiving night shooting has left residents of Moore feeling uneasy.

"I just want to say it's disgusting, you know," Bray remarked. "The kind of culture that exists today where people lose a fight and immediately resort to their weapon or people get into a scuffle."
