Tragedy Strikes Texas Flea Market: Child Killed, Multiple Injured in Shooting

In Pearland, Texas, a tragic incident unfolded on Sunday evening, Nov. 12, when a shooting erupted at Cole’s Flea Market, resulting in the death of one child and injuries to four other individuals.

The disturbance, occurring around 5:30 p.m., involved gunfire that struck two minors among the five victims. Regrettably, one of the children succumbed to their injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

Details regarding the ages and genders of the victims have not been immediately disclosed. The suspects responsible for this deadly shooting remain at large, as confirmed by Pearland police public information officer Chad Rogers during a brief press briefing on Sunday night.

Rogers emphasized that the shooting originated from a disturbance between two individuals and does not appear to be a targeted attack on the flea market.

The number of rounds fired and the count of shooters remain unknown, and authorities are seeking tips from the public to aid in their investigation.

The ongoing investigation is described as "very active" by Rogers. Cole’s Flea Market, recognized as the oldest and largest flea market in Pearland, boasts over 1,000 vendors and attracts between 12,000 and 15,000 customers every weekend through its indoor and outdoor marketplace.
