Florida Woman, Alyssa Ann Zinger Arrested for Posing as Teenager to Engage in Sexual Relationship with Minor
A woman from Florida has been arrested on charges of pretending to be a teenager to have a sexual relationship with a young boy she met online.
Alyssa Ann Zinger, 22, has been accused of two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and five counts of lewd or lascivious molestation. These charges are related to a minor boy with whom Zinger allegedly had a sexual relationship for several months this summer.
Police believe there may be other victims of Zinger's crimes and are encouraging them to come forward. "Anyone who may have been a victim of Zinger's, we encourage you to come forward," Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said in a statement. "The Tampa Police Department will support you and ensure a predator like Zinger doesn't cause you or others additional harm."
The investigation into Zinger began in October after she allegedly sent a video to several minors via Snapchat. The video is believed to depict the victim engaging in some form of sexual intercourse.
In an interview with police, a middle school girl said she had a sexual encounter with the boy at the center of the case in October. She also said that the video of this incident was later sent to several of their classmates through Snapchat by someone with the username "alyssazingerr."
The girl told investigators that Zinger had recorded the video off her cellphone. She said that on the same day, Zinger had asked if she could come over to her house to charge her phone. Then, when the girl was in the bathroom, Zinger allegedly began recording videos and other data from the middle schooler's phone using her phone's video camera.
The middle school girl said she got physical with Zinger to force her to give back her cellphone and then told her father what the 22-year-old woman had done.
When the boy spoke with investigators, he said he and the suspect engaged in various forms of sexual intercourse on around 30 separate occasions. The boy also said that Zinger regularly sent him sexually explicit images and videos via Snapchat. This relationship lasted from around May 28 through mid-September.
According to police, Zinger also told the boy that she had previously engaged in sexual activity with various other minors around his age.
"Victim stated [he] believed her to be approximately 14 years old and home-schooled," the warrant reads. "While speaking with [redacted] stated she physically seemed much older than her age."
Detectives also claim that Zinger previously lied about her age when she and the boy were caught shoplifting at a Nordstrom in July. At the time, she allegedly claimed she had a half-sister with the same name who was eight years her senior.
Rather than being a home-schooled teen, Zinger was a part-time bakery clerk at a Publix supermarket.
