Former Prosecutor's Partner Kills Her and Her Mother on Christmas Eve

The boyfriend of a former Arizona prosecutor fatally shot his girlfriend and her mother on Christmas Eve before taking his own life, as per various reports.

David DeNitto, 47, killed Maryalice “Molly” Cash, 47, and Cindy Domini, 83, at his residence, according to reports from NBC News, AZ Family, and the Arizona Republic. Both Cash and Domini passed away at the hospital, while DeNitto was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.

Authorities shared with the Arizona Republic that an argument erupted during a holiday gathering at the residence before the shooting occurred. Details about others present during the incident remain unclear.

DeNitto was previously married to Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel, who served as a prosecutor but faced personal challenges, including hospitalization for a brain hemorrhage in 2020 and subsequent resignation in 2022 after seeking rehabilitation for alcohol abuse and eating disorders. Adel passed away a month following her resignation.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell expressed profound grief over the tragic events and urged community support for the affected families and Adel’s children, emphasizing the need for privacy.

Reports mentioned Cash and Domini's love for sports, particularly the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Cardinals, often enjoyed at a local bar.

Friends initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses for Cash and her mother, collecting over $18,000 for their services and post-service celebrations.
