Damarean Kaylon Bible, a 25-year-old Minneapolis resident, has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing a woman following a sexual encounter. According to court documents, Bible claims he acted in self-defense, believing the woman posed a threat to him.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning near Lake Street. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot and seeing a man fleeing the scene. Surveillance footage led investigators to Bible, who initially denied involvement but later confessed to the shooting after viewing the video evidence.
Bible reportedly told police that he felt "suspicious" during the oral sex act and continued to feel uneasy after it was over. This prompted him to shoot the woman, according to his account. Gunshot residue was found on the victim's clothing, and Bible admitted firing the weapon from close range.
During a phone call to his father after his arrest, Bible reportedly confessed to the killing, stating that he "just murdered someone" and felt compelled to act. A search warrant executed at his apartment yielded a 9mm Polymer80 handgun without a serial number and a .22 caliber rifle.
Bible is currently in custody and awaits trial for the murder charge.
