Brooklyn Horror: Shocking discovery of dismembered body during wellness check

A routine wellness check in a Brooklyn apartment turned into a chilling crime scene when officers discovered a dismembered human body – head and all – stuffed in a taped-up freezer. The 45-year-old resident, Heather Stines, was initially detained for unrelated warrants, but the gruesome find inside her apartment has sent shockwaves through the city.

The victim, identified as Kawsheen Gelzer, was no stranger to the police, having faced multiple arrests in the past. Sources close to the investigation suspect narcotics involvement in the grisly murder.

Officers were called to Stines' fourth-floor apartment on Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush after a CrimeStoppers tip about a body kept in a refrigerator. Upon arrival, Stines let them in, but grew agitated when they noticed the suspicious freezer. Her combative behavior led to her arrest for outstanding petty larceny charges.

However, complaining of illness, Stines was taken to the hospital for evaluation. It was during this time that the horrifying truth inside the freezer came to light – multiple black garbage bags filled with dismembered human remains.

"We found body parts in the freezer during the investigation," confirmed NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. Thankfully, all the parts seemed to belong to the same individual.

Gelzer's identity was confirmed thanks to his distinctive tattoos, known to authorities from his past encounters with the law. Interestingly, Stines, while undergoing a psychiatric evaluation, claimed her husband, currently imprisoned in Virginia, was responsible for the murder and disposal of the body months ago.

The cause of death remains unknown, pending an autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office. However, sources report a delay as they need the body parts to thaw first.

This chilling discovery has left the community reeling and raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder. Stay tuned for further updates as the investigation unfolds.
