"I Shot My Wife": 911 Call in Minnesota Leads to Husbands's Arrest for Killing After His Wife Right in Front Of His Kids

A Minnesota community mourns the loss of a young mother after her husband allegedly shot her during a heated argument. 35-year-old Bryan Demarais faces second-degree murder charges in the death of his wife, 29-year-old Kayla Demarais, on December 28th.

The couple's two children, an 8-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were present during the incident but thankfully unharmed. According to reports, Bryan Demarais called 911 himself, admitting to shooting his wife and requesting authorities remove the children from the house before they witnessed the scene.

Officers arriving at the residence found Bryan Demarais outside and immediately detained him. Inside, they discovered Kayla Demarais with a fatal gunshot wound.

Authorities believe the argument stemmed from marital issues, including financial difficulties and suspicions of Kayla Demarais having an affair. Bryan Demarais reportedly confronted his wife about text messages found on her phone before leaving for work, telling their children about an impending divorce due to infidelity.

He returned home early from work, appearing distraught to his supervisor, and shortly after, the children heard their parents arguing followed by gunshots. They reported seeing their mother fall and their father yelling for them to stay in their room.

Bryan Demarais remains in custody without bond. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the couple's children and Kayla Demarais' family during this difficult time.
