Tommie Charles Anderson III, a 22-year-old with a bright future ahead, was tragically cut down in his prime during a senseless robbery attempt. Just two days into his new job as a pizza delivery driver, Tommie's life was taken in a cold and calculated act of violence.
On Tuesday afternoon, at around 12:50 PM, West Palm Beach police responded to a frantic 911 call reporting gunshots. Arriving at the scene, they found Tommie critically wounded, riddled with bullets to his neck and arm. Rushed to the hospital, medical professionals fought tirelessly to save him, but their efforts were in vain. Tommie succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Detectives soon pieced together the horrific events. Tommie had just delivered a pizza to a residence when, without warning, he was confronted by two armed individuals. Surveillance footage captured a white Honda with a distinctive dent, circling the area just before the crime. A short while later, a Florida Highway Patrol officer pulled over this very car, with three occupants inside.
Elijsha Wingfield (25), Marcus Williams (29), and Avianna Kerr-Williams (29) were apprehended for questioning. According to their accounts, Wingfield, driven by desperation due to a missing paycheck, hatched a robbery plan upon spotting the pizza delivery driver. Armed with a handgun, he accosted Tommie, while Williams covered him with an AR-15 rifle.
