Social media footage captured the chaotic scene, with officers converging on the stage and rushing into the station, weapons drawn. Witnesses described hearing loud pops amidst the confetti and seeing people bleeding.

"Chaos has broken out at the end of the Chiefs Super Bowl parade," reported local news director Jacob Mikeil, sharing video of the unfolding situation.

The celebratory mood was replaced by grief and confusion. 

Congressman Mark Alford expressed his disappointment on CNN, stating, "We should be celebrating victories, not dealing with shootings."

Despite extensive security measures involving multiple law enforcement agencies, the tragedy struck. Authorities urged fans to prioritize safety and cooperation during future events.

Parade attendees shared their harrowing experiences. One woman described seeing two people injured, while another recounted grabbing her daughter and running amidst the crowd's panic. Two young girls were seen crying, seeking comfort from each other.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes offered his condolences, tweeting, "Praying for Kansas City."
