David Anthony Baynes was found guilty of murder in the second degree, unlawful use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm by Judge Ricardo Menchaca in a bench trial on Thursday.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred in Forest Grove, Oregon on September 18th, 2022.
According to court documents, Baynes fatally shot Adam Woodall 15 times with a handgun while Woodall was in his minivan.
Prosecutors allege Baynes acted out of jealousy as Woodall was the former boyfriend of Baynes' girlfriend.
The defense argued Baynes acted in self-defense, claiming Woodall was armed. However, no weapon was found on Woodall at the scene.
