Teenager Missing Since 2004 May Be Found as Police Recover Remains in Florida

Cops in Florida dug up what they think are the bones of a high school girl who vanished in 2004. They found the remains while searching a suspected burial site.

The remains are believed to be those of Autumn Lane McClure, 16, who was last seen with her boyfriend in May 2004. Her boyfriend told police he dropped her off at a mall and isn't a suspect in her disappearance.

Police believe a man named Brian Christopher Donley Jr. was involved, but he died in 2022. His girlfriend, Jessica Freeman, told police he was involved.

Donley and Freeman were in a relationship with Autumn, who was only 16 at the time, while Donley was 31. After Autumn vanished, her grandma got calls and letters saying she was okay and would return home after turning 18.

Freeman, who recently talked to police after they promised she wouldn't get in trouble, said she once saw Donley choking Autumn in their bathroom.

She said she couldn't help Autumn and left their shared trailer. When she came back two weeks later, she asked about Autumn, and Donley allegedly threatened her if she kept asking.

Over the years, Donley reportedly told Freeman many times that he had "cut Autumn up, buried her, and scattered her remains in different places."

In late 2023, Freeman told police where she thought Autumn was buried. Donley had supposedly bragged about new concrete being poured over the spot. The police worked with the property owner to dig up the remains. While they haven't officially confirmed it's Autumn, they say they found almost all of her remains.

The police are in touch with Autumn's family to let them know about the discovery.
