Earlier this year, the Guardia Civil arrested three individuals connected to the disappearance and murder of a Belgian couple living in Callao Salvaje, located in the south of Tenerife.
According to a report by Mirame TV, the suspects are directly linked to the murder of 66-year-old Laura Gastón and the disappearance of her 71-year-old husband, Marc Francis.
The couple was reported missing in April by SOS Desaparecidos.
On April 27th, a fisherman discovered Laura Gastón's body floating off the east coast of Tenerife near Arico.
An autopsy confirmed that she had met a violent end, with her body dismembered.
She was missing one hand and both legs, and her head was covered with a plastic bag.
The whereabouts of Marc Francis remains unknown as the investigation continues.
There have been unconfirmed reports from Belgium that a car, potentially containing a body, was found in the sea near where Laura's body was discovered.
However, investigators have not verified these claims.
The arrests include two individuals apprehended in Belgium and one in Tenerife.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, details remain limited.
The Arona Courts, overseeing the case, have declared the proceedings confidential, pending the conclusion of inquiries and the extradition of the detainees.
The Guardia Civil's investigation has been carried out in close cooperation with the Belgian Federal Police, demonstrating international collaboration in this tragic case.
