Alysha Hanin, a New Zealander with a history of mingling and partying, vanished in Miami Beach in 2002.
She left behind a young son who is now determined to uncover the truth about what happened.
The Florida police have reignited the cold case of his mother who mysteriously disappeared in the United States over two decades ago.
Alysha Hanin, who was 24 when she disappeared, lived a wild life of drugs and partying on Jeffrey Epstein's island.
She went missing after leaving a luxury Miami hotel in the middle of the night in 2002.
Hanin left behind a three-year-old son, Adrian Hoffmann, who has now started his own search for answers in the case.
According to local police, they believe "foul play" may be involved.
On January 6, 2002, Hanin, known to her family in New Zealand as Krsangi, was seen leaving the luxury Shore Club hotel in South Miami Beach around 4 a.m..
She never came back to the hotel, and no one has heard from her since.
Her passport, luggage, purse, ID, and credit cards were discovered inside the hotel room.
Although she frequently traveled between LA, California, and Miami each month, there has been no activity on any of Hanin's bank cards since the day she was last seen.
The Miami Beach Police Department suspects that "foul play" may have been involved in her disappearance.
In the years before she disappeared, Hanin was involved in an on-and-off- relationship with a Florida lawyer, whom
Stuff has decided not to name.
According to Stuff, Hanin filed a police report against him just five days before she disappeared.
Police were called to his home early on January 1, 2002, following an argument he had with Hanin.
According to the arrest affidavit, Hanin informed responding officers that her boyfriend had pushed her and knocked her to the floor.
The police report states that, once she was on the floor, he allegedly punched Hanin in the mouth, causing her gums to bleed and her bottom teeth to loosen.
The man was arrested and charged with battery in connection with the incident but was released on $1,500 bail.
On January 10, four days after Hanin was last seen, she was ordered to appear as a witness in court regarding the incident.
She was summoned again on January 24 but she didn't show up.
Three days later, she was reported missing.
Her boyfriend was discharged without conviction and the files surrounding the court case have since been destroyed.
An earlier arrest affidavit shows that in July 2001, Hanin's boyfriend was charged with two counts of battery against her.
He was accused of dragging and pushing Hanin and her 2-year-old son out of their shared apartment.
However, the case was dropped, and the files were subsequently destroyed.
The reason for this is also unclear.
Hoffmann was only 3 years old when his mother disappeared, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and faded memories.
Though Hanin's case received little media attention in New Zealand when she went missing, it did catch the interest of a private investigator.
The Investigator traveled to Miami Beach with Hanin's mother in the weeks after her disappearance
When Hoffmann was just four months old, his father died, leaving Hanin to raise him alone.
With Hanin's mother—Hoffmann's grandmother—living in New Zealand, Aotearoa was always her base as she traveled the world.
Sometimes she traveled with Hoffmann and sometimes without him.
By the early 2000s, Hoffmann understands that Hanin's life had spiraled out of control.
She used drugs regularly and worked as an escort
Hoffmann said that Hanin also told her loved ones she would be going with friends to party on Epstein's Island.
Weeks before her mysterious disappearance, Hanin returned to Aotearoa to drop Hoffmann with his grandmother.
She said she was returning to Miami Beach to "tie up some loose ends"
Hoffmann understands that she told his grandmother she wanted to leave her life in Miami behind and raise her son there.
This is the last time she was seen by her family.
The Miami Beach Police Department describes Hanin as a Caucasian female, standing between 5'6" and 5'7" and weighing around 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
She has ear piercings, a piercing on her left nostril, and a scar on the pad of her right index finger.
Hanin is known to have used the first names Alysha, Krsangi, and Yami, as well as the surnames Hanin, Senk, and Devi.
