Police Arrest Man, Willio Petioma, Who Was Seen Abandoning 3-year-old by Roadside After he Stole The Mothers Car
Detectives have arrested the suspect involved in the carjacking where a woman's vehicle, with her 3-year-old child in the back seat, was stolen in Oakland Park.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit reported that 35-year-old Willio Petioma was arrested following an anonymous tip.
According to reports, the anonymous tip came from his mother.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday at 850 W. Commercial Boulevard.
According to BSO officials, after a collision with another vehicle, the mother exited her car to exchange information with the other driver.
She left her 3-year-old daughter in the car while she was doing that.
At this point, an individual entered the woman’s vehicle and drove off with the child still inside.
The mother tried to stop the car, holding onto the door and shouting to alert the thief about her child.
Despite her efforts, the suspect continued driving, dragging the mother until she fell to the ground.
