Pregnant Teen Found Dead: Family Tracks Cellphone to Woods, Ex-Boyfriend Arrested

In Loganville, Georgia, a tragic incident has led to the arrest of Jesus Monroy, a 20-year-old man accused in connection with the death of his 16-year-old pregnant ex-girlfriend, Mia Campos.

Her family discovered her body in a wooded area near their home early on Monday morning.

According to Gwinnett County Police Department reports, officers responded to a 911 call from Mia’s family members who found her remains after tracking her cellphone using a location app.

Initial investigations were inconclusive about the cause of Mia’s death, which was later determined to be a homicide following an autopsy.

Jesus Monroy was apprehended and charged with providing false information to police during their inquiries.

Authorities have indicated that Monroy, identified as Mia’s ex-boyfriend and father of her unborn child, is not the sole suspect in the ongoing investigation.

Mia’s father, Edward Campos, recounted the heartbreaking moment of discovering his daughter’s lifeless body, expressing confidence in law enforcement’s efforts to uncover the truth and seek justice.

In response to this tragedy, Mia’s mother initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her daughter’s funeral expenses, describing Mia as the cherished light of her life, now resting in heaven with her unborn child.

The community has been urged to assist in the investigation by providing any relevant information to aid in apprehending those responsible.
