San Mateo Community in Shock: The Deaths of Anand Sujith Henry, Alice Benzinger, and Their Twins

California was shocked and couldn't believe the news of a terrible incident that happened in a quiet neighborhood on February 12, 2024.

Anand Sujith Henry, a former Meta engineer, and his wife Alice Benzinger were found dead in their $2.1 million home in San Mateo

Their four-year-old twin boys were also found dead in their home.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths have raised many questions.

The Victims: Anand Sujith Henry and Alice Benzinger

Anand Sujith Henry, a skilled software engineering manager, had a bright career with both Meta and Google.

After some time at Meta, Anand resigned to follow his entrepreneurial ambitions and founded his own AI company, Logtis.

Born in India, Anand and his wife Alice moved to the United States about nine years ago to find new opportunities and a better future for their family.

Alice, a data science manager at Zillow, was a committed professional who made important contributions to her field.

Her expertise in the field earned her recognition and respect within the industry.

Prior to her role at Zillow, she held positions at Dictionary.com, Idibon, and Change.org, where she made significant contributions to the field of data science.

Friends and neighbors of Anand and Alice described them as a loving and devoted family.

Before the birth of their twins, they were frequently seen taking leisurely walks together, enjoying the excitement of expanding their family.

Tragic Discovery

The San Mateo Police Department received a distress call requesting a welfare check at the Henry-Benzinger home.

Officers arrived at the scene around 9:15 a.m..

When they announced their presence and received no response, they began searching outside the home.

After finding an unlocked window, they entered the house and came across a scene of unimaginable horror.

Inside the home, they found Anand Sujith Henry and Alice Benzinger dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds in one of the bathrooms.

A 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine were found nearby, leading investigators to believe that this was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of their twin boys, Noah and Neithan, were found in one of the other bedrooms.

This discovery further deepened the tragedy.

The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office took the bodies to conduct further investigations and formally identify the victims.

Investigation

As investigators looked more into this tragic case, they discovered so many unanswered questions.

The cause of death for the young twins is still unknown, as their bodies showed no signs of trauma.

Sources close to the investigation suggest that the children might have been smothered or given a fatal dose of drugs.

However, law enforcement officials have not yet confirmed these details.

During the investigation, authorities found out that Anand Sujith Henry had started the process of divorcing Alice Benzinger in December 2016, but the divorce was never finalized.

This raised questions about their relationship and what might have led to this tragic incident.

Police had been called to the couple’s home before, but the details of these calls haven't been revealed, leaving room for speculation.

Aftermath and Ongoing Investigations

The news deeply affected the San Mateo community, which is known for its peaceful and safe environment.

Neighbors expressed their shock and disbelief, noting that they had never seen such a tragedy in their close-knit community.

Many remember the Henry-Benzinger family as friendly and loving, making this incident even more difficult to comprehend.

As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, law enforcement officials are working hard to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together the events leading up to it.
