Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney Charged in the Death of Michele Jackson


 
Earlier this week, a teenage girl was found dead in the Farnhamville community of Calhoun County.

She has just been identified by authorities, and a suspect has now been charged with murder. 

Seventeen-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson was reported missing on Sunday evening, 22 September, 2024.

Her body was discovered in a cornfield on Monday morning, 23, September, 2024.

Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney, a 21-year-old from Gowrie, has been arrested in connection with the case. 

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has charged Bevers-McGivney with First Degree Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, and Failure to Disclose Known Location.

According to a criminal complaint, Bevers-McGivney intentionally cut Michele Jackson’s throat with a knife. 

He is currently being held at the Carroll County Jail. 

Private family services for Michele Jackson are scheduled at Laufersweiler Palmer and Sons Funeral Home in Gowrie.

A woman reported her daughter missing to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s office on Sunday evening. 

While searching for her daughter, she and another daughter met Bevers-McGivney, who was "covered in apparent blood."

Also, he was in possession of the missing girl’s scooter and other belongings. 

Law enforcement believes this incident was isolated and poses no ongoing threat to public safety. 

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from several agencies on this case.

This includes the Rockwell City and Lake City Police Departments, Calhoun County Emergency Medical Services, and the Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency.
