A Texas family has been left devastated after a violent husband fatally shot his wife and their two children at their home according to daily mail.
Police were called to the 3600 block of NE 14th Avenue in Amarillo on Saturday evening after a gruesome discovery.
A family member discovered the bodies of Jose Olmos, his wife Jessica, 33, and their children Jazele and Daniel.
Jose Olmos, 42, who worked as an electrician, had previously been arrested by Amarillo police.
He was arrested on May 19, 2024, for assaulting a family member.
He was released on a $500 bond and returned to the family home.
Investigators now believe he killed his family in a murder-suicide.
A mugshot from his earlier arrest showed scratch marks on his neck.
A family friend, Clara Nunez, expressed her sorrow on Facebook, writing, "Oh Jessica Olmos! I'm so sorry I couldn’t help you out of this."
The couple had recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on July 4 and had been living at Olmos’s home since their marriage.
Jessica worked as an office manager at Jeff Bara State Farm Agency.
Their daughter, Jazele, a 7th grader, was passionate about wrestling.
Just months earlier, the family had taken part in a beautiful photoshoot in a field near their home.
Photographer Anna Vega, shocked by the tragic news, posted the images on Facebook.
She wrote, “I told you while you were here, Jessica, it was an honor to work with you and your beautiful kids. Jazele and Daniel were so sweet... I hope these photos show a glimpse of the light you all were, not just the final moments that took you away.”
Jessica had already endured the loss of her younger sister in February 2023.
She and her family had recently gathered to celebrate Mother’s Day with her mother, Blanca Menendez, just days before Olmos’s domestic violence arrest.
Jessica's stepdaughter, Arianna Olmos, shared an emotional tribute to her murdered family.
She specifically left out her father in her tribute.
“When I was told three of the most caring souls I knew gained their angel wings, my heart broke,” she wrote.
"Jazele, I’ll miss your smile and goofy faces. Daniel, I’ll miss your love for cars. Jessica, I’m thankful for having had you as a stepmom. I can’t put into words how much I hurt."
In another tragic case, a woman missing for three days was found murdered shortly after her wedding.
