The Harrowing Case of Jesse Stone: Florida Teenager Admits To Sexually Assaulting a 91-Year-Old Woman

On June 9, 2024, Jesse Stone, a 14-year-old boy from Marion County, Florida, raped an elderly woman.

The crime was so heinous that it left many questioning how someone so young could engage in such violence.

The Crime

In the early hours of June 9, 2024, a 91-year-old woman in Reddick, Florida, woke up to a nightmare.

Jesse Stone had entered her home through an unlocked door, leading to a devastating and violent assault.

According to police reports, Stone punched, groped, and sexually assaulted the elderly woman in a chilling episode.

Sheriff Billy Woods from the local police department described the crime as "truly disturbing."

Despite her old age, the victim displayed incredible resilience, as reported by local news outlets.

She initially tried to stop the attack, but when she saw Stone overpowered her, she prayed for the attack to end.

Eventually, the teenager stopped the horrific assault and left the crime scene.

Criminal Investigators later revealed that Jesse Stone knew the victim before the attack.

The teen, who lived nearby with his grandparents, had even been at her home earlier that day.

Investigation and Arrest

After the attack, the victim called 911 and an investigation of the crime scene began immediately by detectives.

They meticulously collected evidence to identify the perpetrator and thankfully, Jesse Stone's DNA was recovered from a rape kit used on the victim.

Lieutenant Paul Bloom noted that advanced DNA testing, which is not readily available to all agencies, was used to speed up the process of solving the case

"We don’t want time with this person out there to potentially attack another victim," he explained.

During the investigation, a neighbor provided critical video footage showing the attacker near the victim’s home on the night of the crime.

While investigators were speaking to the neighbor, Jesse Stone rode by on a bike, wearing clothes that closely resembled those seen in the footage.

This encounter immediately raised suspicions and Jesse Stone was taken in for questioning.

Detective Caitlin Hartigan conducted an interview with Stone, during which he initially denied any involvement.

However, detectives pointed out that he was wearing similar clothes to those in the video.

Under further questioning, Stone confessed, admitting to entering the victim's home and committing the assault.

Justice: Legal Proceedings in Jesse Stone's Case

Stone was arrested on June 10, 2024, and charged with sexual battery and burglary.

Despite his young age, the severity of the crime led prosecutors to charge him as an adult.

On November 7, 2024, Stone entered a plea deal, pleading guilty to all charges

His sentencing was scheduled for December 19, 2024, just three days before his fifteenth birthday.

Law enforcement and legal experts emphasized the importance of accountability and rehabilitation in such cases.

Sheriff Billy Woods acknowledged the support from the Reddick community, stating, "The citizens who provided tips and leads played a crucial role in ensuring justice for the victim."

As of January 2025 when this article was published, it is presumed that Jesse Stone has already been sentenced.

However, we were unable to locate any information online regarding the exact details of his sentence.

We will update this article as soon as that information becomes available.
