Charles Roy Rodriguez |
Who Was Charles Roy Rodriguez?
Charles Roy Rodriguez had a troubled past.
In 2001, he was charged with sexual assault and given 10 years of probation.
He had been on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s sex offender list since 2002.
Rodriguez died of natural causes in a Houston hospital in January 2025, and his body was sent to the funeral home to be prepared.
Even though Rodriguez had a criminal history, authorities have made it clear that everyone, no matter their past, deserves to be treated with respect after death.
As Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen said, “No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in death.”
This true-crime case has brought up serious questions about the law and right versus wrong.
According to court papers, Laudermilk did not only harm Rodriguez’s body but also scared her coworkers, who were too afraid to report what happened because of her threats.
What’s Next for Amber Laudermilk?
After the incident, Memorial Mortuary and Crematory shared a statement.
They said, “We are very upset and sad about what this former worker did. Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of the person who died.”
Laudermilk is expected to appear in court soon, where a judge will decide her punishment.
The case has gotten a lot of attention because of how shocking and troubling it is.
As Constable Rosen said, “This case is about two troubled people: the victim, who was a registered sex offender, and the defendant, who is accused of attacking his dead body.” He added, “The facts show she was angry, and I hope after this is over, she gets the help she needs.”
As the investigation continues, many people are wondering what could make someone do something like this.
For now, the focus is on the court case and making sure everyone involved gets the justice and help they need.
