The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office was called to a disturbing scene on March 8, 2025.
A passerby reported finding a body in a wooded area near Highway 77 and West Pioneers Boulevard in Lincoln.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin confirmed during a press conference that the remains belonged to Tyler Goodrich, who had been missing for over 16 months.
The area where Tyler was found had been searched multiple times, including by public volunteers.
However, the dense woods and time likely played a role in the delayed discovery, as reported by News Nation.
The remains were located just 10 to 15 yards from the road and about 967 yards from Tyler’s home.
According to NBC, preliminary findings suggest this was not a homicide, and authorities have assured the public there is no ongoing threat.
An autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death, with results expected in the coming weeks.

The Night Tyler Disappeared
Tyler Goodrich disappeared on November 3, 2023, after an argument with his husband, Marshall Vogel.
Vogel recounted that the disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, prompting him to call 911.
By the time deputies arrived, Tyler had already left the house.
Despite their efforts to locate him, he was nowhere to be found.
A short video captured Tyler leaving his residence at 7:41 p.m. that night, but after that, his trail went cold.
His cell phone went silent, and despite extensive searches, including canine units and volunteer efforts, Tyler remained missing for over a year.
Tyler’s disappearance sparked a massive community response.
A Facebook group dedicated to finding him grew to over 28,000 members, and his face was displayed on billboards across Nebraska.

Marshall Vogel, Tyler’s husband, also shared a heartfelt message after this discovery.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy. Tyler was a husband, a loving father, and a friend to so many. We will feel his absence, but his memory will live on,” said Vogel.
