Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez: Orlando Woman Charged With Murder Two Years After Roommate Reported Missing

An Orlando woman is now facing serious criminal charges in connection with the mysterious disappearance of her roommate.

On December 27, 2022, Orlando police were called to an apartment in the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road after Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, then 42, reported her roommate missing. 

She told officers she had not seen Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42, since Christmas Day.

What first appeared to be a missing person case later turned into a homicide investigation.

According to the Orlando Police Department (OPD), detectives began noticing problems with Victoria-Gonzalez’s story as the investigation moved forward.

In a statement released by police, OPD detectives found numerous inconsistencies in the version of events as described by Victoria-Gonzalez

Those concerns led investigators to obtain and carry out a search warrant at the apartment the two women shared, as reported by Orlando Sentinel.

During the search of the residence, police said they uncovered disturbing signs that suggested something far more serious had taken place.

They also discovered that she made some disturbing Google searches, and she also bought a chainsaw from a hardware store days after her roommate disappeared.

“A search warrant was executed at their residence, where significant evidence was recovered, indicating a violent incident had occurred,” OPD stated.

Despite the discovery of these evidences,  Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been found, a fact that continues to weigh heavily over the case.

As detectives worked to uncover what really happened, Victoria-Gonzalez left Florida so the investigation expanded across local, state, and federal agencies.

Authorities were able to track Victoria-Gonzalez to Hartford, Connecticut, where she was living at the time.

After investigators said they had enough probable cause to arrest her, they travelled there and she was later taken into custody.

In 2024, Orlando police officially announced that Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez had been charged with second-degree murder,
tampering with physical evidence, and
Grand theft.

Police have not released details about how Medina-Pacheco was allegedly killed or what evidence directly links Victoria-Gonzalez to her death.

According to PEOPLE, Medina-Pacheco had traveled from her home in the Dominican Republic to Orlando in October 2022 for an extended stay.

She was reportedly living with the suspect who she knew from back home when she vanished just weeks later.

Authorities believe that Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez stole the victims $3000, and when she found out, she was killed by the suspect.

Even with the arrest and charges filed, investigators say the case remains open due to the missing body.

The Orlando Police Department is urging anyone with information related to Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco’s disappearance or death to come forward.
