NEWARK, Ohio — A man and woman from Licking County are sitting in jail this week, after detectives uncovered a series of hidden-camera recordings which the pair made together over a two-year period.
The case against John Michael Nethers, 43, and Brianna Nicole Nethers, 23, began on June 24, 2026, when Newark police served a search warrant at their property.
Officers were investigating allegations of rape and child sexual abuse material, and they collected a number of electronic devices during the search
John Nethers gave police a laptop that belonged to him and after he unlocked the laptop, they found a lot of files which were described as child sexual abuse material.
Among the files was a video that showed Brianna Nethers sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy into a public restroom in Newark.
She had concealed a camera inside her purse, before she then brought the minor in and performed sexual acts on him while the hidden camera recorded the entire encounter.
Investigators also discovered a separate video in which capture women and girls as they used the stalls of a public restroom, according to the court documents.
Brianna Nethers placed a camera on the floor of the public restroom, and secretly filmed her victims who were mostly minors.
When detectives asked John Nethers how all of this footage ended up on his computer, he told investigators that he would take videos from his wife's camera, upload them to his laptop and edit them,"
The timeline outlined in court records covers a lengthy period. Investigators believe the incidents began on April 1, 2024, and continued all the way through April 30, 2026.
Both John and Brianna Nethers are now charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, which is a second-degree felony under Ohio law.
They have made their initial court appearances, and a judge set bond at $1 million for each defendant, as per online reports.
Brianna Nethers has the option to post 10 percent of that amount to secure her release while the case moves forward. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for July 2.
As the investigation continues, Newark detectives are asking for help from the public. They are asking anyone who has had contact with the pair or who may have information relevant to the case is urged to call the Newark Police Detective Bureau at 740-670-7215.
